At CBUS we are embarking on a number of exciting new projects and as a result we are looking for a savvy Data Engineer to join our growing team of IT professionals.  The Data Engineer is responsible for building solutions to ingest, transform and manage data across the fund’s data platform assets. The role will require experience in cloud data warehousing (AWS) and an understanding of data modelling and manipulation of large datasets, in a variety of forms, for consumption by data analysts and data visualisation specialists.
  
You will be a collaborative, results orientated, strategic and agile individual, able to work with other data specialists within the Information Services team as well as business functions including Compliance, Risk, Product, Operations, Member and Employer experience, Business Partners etc. across the fund. You will have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years experience working in a Data Engineering (or related role) and a degree in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.  You will also have SQL experience across multiple relational data stores with skills in in one or more scripting languages, particularly Python or Java. You will have demonstrated an understanding of the use cases for different data stores including relational database, No SQL data store, massively parallel data warehouse and event store.  The preferred candidate will have experience working on a modern DevOps toolset e.g. CI/CD tools including Jenkins, version control using BitBucket and binary artefact management tools such as Nexus and Groovy.
