Financial Accountant


Duties include financial reporting, tax compliance, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, compliance with BAS, GST and FBT calculations.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic person to join our Finance team on a fixed term contract for 12 months. Reporting to the CFO, this role will undertake duties and responsibilities involved for all aspects of financial accounting functions. Your core duties will include: financial reporting, tax compliance, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, compliance with BAS, GST and FBT calculations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Managing month end close including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and reporting
  • Monthly tax reporting
  • Providing assistance to non-Finance staff in the preparation of accounting data and accounting related functions as required
  • Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Providing assistance in co-ordination of the audit process and working with the external auditors
  • Keeping up-to date with applicable accounting standards and relevant tax legislation
  • Working closely with other group companies in relation to accounting and treasury operations
  • Strategic project work as required
To be successful the applicant will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in an accounting role
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance and/or relevant experience in these fields
  • CA/CPA qualification
  • Sound working knowledge of accounting systems and principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and databases with a focus on MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility, accountability and ability to manage workload with tight deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning, time management and organisational skills
