APS 5 / 6 Ministerial Correspondence Officers
Our client is leading the Government’s policy and program response to improve communications connectivity for regional and remote Australians. Their work directly helps regional and remote communities stay connected through initiatives such as targeted broadband projects, rollout of new mobile coverage and the delivery of free-to-air television safety net services.

About the Position
Working in a fast-paced environment, candidates will have excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure correspondence is responded to within the specified deadlines. The main role includes drafting ministerial replies to correspondence received from Members of Parliament, answering a variety of queries from the general public, and taking responsibility for their own workload, liaising with internal and external colleagues to obtain the information needed to respond accurately within the given deadline.

What we are looking for 
  • Demonstrated experience drafting ministerial correspondence.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a demonstrated experience in editing and writing a range of documents.
  • Experience with or ability to use Google Earth and other mapping systems
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in consultation processes with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative to progress and deliver work
  • High level organisational skills including an ability to effectively manage high volumes of incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, utilise discretion and deal with matters in the absence of decision makers to establish work priorities, meet deadlines, proactively identify and resolve issues and negotiate outcomes.
