Hawksworth are sourcing a Senior Business Analyst who has worked on International Finance Reporting Standards (IFRS) for an Australian Banking Institution for its Brisbane office.

Key Accountabilities
To work in partnership with project stakeholders and subject matter experts to elicit and define business requirements, analyse solution viability and document project deliverables.

Technical Skills
  • Experience in large finance transformation / systems consolidation or implementation (may be was a financial accountant in the past; not essential to be qualified, just need to have an solid understanding what finance processes are)
  • Or worked on delivering: reporting or proforma reporting solutions, Chart of accounts redesign, data remediation (reporting would be a bonus as we will be in a great need of that skill later down the track)
  • Experienced a full project cycle as a BA and preferably not a SME (as this provides a different perspective on the delivery of the project)
  • Business process improvements
  • Requirements elicitation, using various methodologies (such as interviews, facilitating requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, vendor assessments etc) and proactively collaborating closely with key business stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Requirements documentation, including process mapping and modelling (As-Is and To-Be), artefact management, and Standard Operating Procedures/training material/communication development
  • Impact analysis, reconciling conflicts, identification and mitigation of issues or risks
  • Assist the business prioritise high level business requirements, recommending options and providing cost benefit analysis and solution option Solution development (where required)
  • UAT planning and management/oversight
  • Willingness to pick up a host of other tasks not formally part of a Business Analyst role (e.g. Project Management, Change Management, providing input into business submissions)

  • Proactively coach and mentor junior BAs to understand and become proficient in process modelling, project management practices and principles, and build an awareness of Business Analysis standards.
Additional Requirements
  • Previous experience working in an autonomous environment with a geographically dispersed team
  • Previous experience within the financial services industry
  • Previous experience in Agile delivery
  • Preferred CBAP or above accreditation
