About Rocket Lab
At Rocket Lab, we believe the future will be defined and enabled by access to space.  As a world leader in launch and space systems, we’re making the future a reality and enabling the ideas of tomorrow to reach orbit today.  We’re unlocking the potential of space and ushering in a new era of opportunity and exploration for the benefit of humankind.

The Mission
As a Propulsion Technician, you’ll be part of the world-leading propulsion team that developed the Rutherford engine – the first 3D printed, electric pump-fed rocket engine to be launched to space. This team redefined the way we access space, and they’re just getting started. In the coming months Rocket Lab will launch its first mission to the Moon for NASA, and the propulsion team is critical to that effort through the development and testing of the HyperCurie, Rutherford engines and Electron stages. In addition to testing, facility infrastructure work is required as second priority to support the test facility including: maintenance, upgrades and contributions to new projects.  This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a development program for lunar missions, while also ensuring legacy programs like Rutherford engine testing runs smoothly.

This is a rare opportunity to join the team as we transition to a state-of-the-art new test facility where you’ll have access to the best equipment and learn from industry-leading mentors.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience working with aviation or equivalent fault intolerant assemblies
  • Proven industry experience with mechanical and electrical production or maintenance activities Capable of following a process without fault and show an impeccable attention to detail
  • Experienced working with PPE and safety processes on/in hazardous equipment and environments Experienced working in clean room environments including oxygen service cleanliness
  • Able to quickly identify and communicate deviations and has an eye for continuous improvement Appropriate trade certificate in Mechanical or Electrical assembly

As well as a being a career-defining role, working at Rocket Lab means being part of meaningful projects with world-leading experts.

Collaboration is at our core - every idea is heard, and everyone makes a difference.

We get things done. Our team is nimble, decisions are made quickly, and we are action oriented. While other companies talk about it, we do it. This means projects get the green light faster and ideas are put into practice rapidly.

Everyone works on the big stuff. This isn’t a huge aerospace company where you get lost in bureaucracy and end up a tiny cog in a giant machine. At Rocket Lab, your work directly impacts the success of each mission. Everyone’s voice is heard, and everyone can contribute major projects. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in developing space systems that change the way we access space.
