Join the road safety team (contract) that is committed to providing value to our community by maintaining safe and equitable use of space to park, using a mix of education and enforcement methods. Our parking officers focus on parking safety, vehicle turnover and public amenity, influencing parking behaviour to ensure exceptional experiences for our community.
You will be responsible for conducting proactive patrols and scheduled monitoring of high movement areas that include schools, train stations industrial and central business districts.

ABOUT THE ROLE
• Promote positive parking behaviour, focussed on addressing parking safety, vehicle turnover and public amenity, by using a mix of parking enforcement and education tools.

• Provide the public with sound advice and guidance regarding the Victorian road rules and legislation.

• The provision of exceptional customer service to our community, focusing on reaching positive outcomes and mitigating conflict.

ABOUT YOU
• Previous experience in enforcement, compliance, or regulatory services is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant legislation and acts affecting the law enforcement functions of Council.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Victoria Road rules and legislation.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills, and ability to influence parking behaviour.

• Ability to learn places of interest to be able to provide informative responses to tourists enquiries regarding the Geelong region.

• Demonstrated high customer service ethos including the proven ability to liaise with the general public in relation to complaints, enquiries, etc.

• Demonstrated high level of dispute resolution and negotiation skills.

• Demonstrated research and analytical skills and an understanding of evidence gathering and court procedures.

• Practical experience in legal or judicial practices.

MUST HAVE
• Current Victorian Drivers Licence
• National Police Check
• Working with children’s check
