We have a great opportunity for a Payroll Officer, working 20 – 25 hours per week.  Initially the role is a 3 – 6 month temp assignment, with a review thereafter.  This is a hands on role working end to end, with your day to day responsibilities including:
  • End to end preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll extracting information from rosters
  • Interpretation of Modern Awards (including SCHADS, Allied Health and Clerks)
  • Compiling summary of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave etc
  • Processing other payments including child support, parental leave and workers compensation
  • Supporting with resolution of payroll discrepancies or queries
  • Maintaining compliance processes and employee records maintenance
  • Working closely with key stakeholders including HR, Finance and Rostering
  • Processing and reporting on statutory requirements (payroll tax, super, PAYG)
  • Supporting with end of month finalisation activities
The ideal candidate will be an experienced payroll officer, who brings a solid skill set in working end to end with payroll processes.  You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge of Modern Awards including their interpretation and application to payroll.  If you have worked within the not for profit, disability services, aged or health care industry – your knowledge of NDIS will be valuable.

You will bring an approach which is deadline focused, with a meticulous attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.  Your ability to work within MYOB (or similar) payroll systems, with advanced MS office (Word and Excel) are vital to your success in this role.

You will be the go-to person for all things payroll and as such should demonstrate a flexible approach to engaging with others and solving problems.  If you have a dual role which is payroll and finance, we would love to hear from you, as there may be times when your skills in finance will support with overflow.

After initial onboarding, this role will be a mix of work from home, with one day per week in the offices.

The role is offered on an hourly rate basis.  It is anticipated the role will be for a period of up to 6 months with a review based on business requirements at the 3 month mark.
