We are seeking a detail-oriented, quick-learning Project Manager to work with a well-established committed team of researchers. The project manager role is  responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end execution of a large longitudinal research study, while cultivating strong relationships with clients and cross-functional internal resources.

We work in a collaborative, well supported environment on major government research projects which are challenging and effect change for Australian society. While the successful applicant will  focus initially on understanding the end to end management of a major longitudinal study,  there is significant  opportunity for growth and career progression within the social and government research division and our broader client base spanning commercial clients including tourism, retail, fast-moving consumer goods, media, finance, services, business-to-business, and everything in between.
We are looking for highly engaged individuals who:
  • Have detailed understanding of government and social research methods and its applications to the real world
  • Can oversee key projects as well as write high standard analytical and technical reports.
  • Have appropriate tertiary qualifications, preferably in marketing, psychology or the social sciences
As a project manager, you will work with clients and internal team to lead all aspects of project/study execution, helping guide the client, team-members and any external partners through all critical project phases.
Key responsibilities include
  • End to end coordination of assigned projects
  • Understanding project specifications and requirements and working with the Project Director to prepare the project plan and job costing
  • Building strong relationships with field operations, liaising with them to commence field work
  • Coordinating and managing internal data collection activities to client specifications, on time and on budget.
  • Ensuring project design meets client needs by providing consultation to clients concerning research best practices.
  • Proactively contacting clients by phone and email to finalise project specifications and to provide consultative updates throughout the project life cycle.
  • Following quality assurance procedures to ensure quality and accuracy; identifies and communicates potential problems to appropriate colleagues to drive a resolution.
  • Working with the Project Director to prepare content for reports and presentations
  • Ensuring client expectations are exceeded
To be successful in this role you will possess:
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in the research industry, preferably within Government and Social research
  • Full understanding of the end-to-end research process
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to analyse data and draw insights from data
  • Strong research reporting ability
  • Basic practical knowledge of sampling, questionnaire design and data analysis
  • Understanding of basic statistical tools.
  • Ability to analyse and present information confidently and intelligently.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and good relationship building skills.
  • High fluency and literacy in Business English language
