  • High efficiency power supply
  • Influence world-wide new product design

This is an exciting, newly created senior R&D role based at the Australian subsidiary of a global business.  Location: Frenchs Forest.    Our client company is a market leader and prides itself in producing innovative products that are cutting edge in efficiency, size and function.  This newly created role is designed to further expand this capability.

As a team-oriented person who is happy to mentor others, you will report to the Engineering Manager and informally hold a 2IC responsibility as a senior member of an already successful R&D team.  The culture of the organisation can be described as fast paced and innovative, with all the benefits of a smaller more entrepreneurial organisation but with an international parent and a ‘corporate’ feel.  Within the global group, Australia is seen as the centre of innovation.

We are looking for a specialist engineer with the ability to develop concepts and communicate ideas - internally with the technical, quality and production team as well as with end users and the broader customer base.  You will bring a track record of working in a professional and structured environment that you combine with a flair for working in a more entrepreneurial culture that has a ‘fast to market’ mantra.  You will be a confident problem solver with the ability to resolve difficult engineering problems.

Ideally, we are looking for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer, with a history of working on creative, cutting edge R&D projects in a broad range of electronics environments and coming from a sophisticated, more corporate background. Your experience will cover complete projects from concept through to manufacturing, testing and quality management.    An understanding of circuit simulation and PCB layout will combine with practical knowledge of electronics circuit building, testing and fault finding.  You will be experienced in documentation and specification of build packs and the evaluation of quotes.  You will also be used to collaborating with suppliers, manufacturers and sales teams and will bring with you an understanding of all international safety, efficiency and EMC standards.  You could be coming from a broad range of industry backgrounds but have core experience in high efficiency AC/DC and DC-DC power supply design as well at exposure to Altium PCB CAD package, simulation packages (SPICE) and some familiarity with Solidworks/3D CAD system, or similar.
