The Company

This Australian owned company has been in operation for over 30 years and has constructed a national portfolio of managed assets within the following sectors:
  • Industrial
  • Manufacturing
  • Retail
  • Service Stations
With a large amount of building projects under construction and even more in the pipeline, their ever increasing volume of construction work now requires additional resources to manage the workload - currently in need of a Tender Manager.

The Job

The Tender Manager will be based out of the head office here in Melbourne and have some occasional national travel.  You will be working closely with the internal Project Management team at the front end of construction works - enabling site based activities to commence as soon as planning is approved.  This will involve:
  • Working with planning team and town planners to ensure planning approval is achieved
  • Asses and review drawings and ensuring scopes of works are in place with suitable sub-contractors, with no omissions 
  • Oversee the tender-management process, selection and negotiation of sub-contractors, packages of works or, when needed, head-contractor selection
  • Remain engaged in procurement of all packages until construction works start and handed over to Project Management team
  • Work with local and regional internal Project Management team to assess contractors performance and suitability to undertake construction works

Do you suit this role?

You will likely be well experienced in estimating, contracts administration, procurement and have some planning knowledge.  You must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • 5+ years in a relevant role, in Australia
  • Have strong technical construction knowledge 
  • Capable of reading drawings and writing scopes of works
  • Experience analysing subcontractor packages, negotiating prices and engaging contractors
