Bis is currently seeking an HR Business Partner to develop and deliver strategic workforce planning, support and lead change management and provide operational HR and ER support and advice, to internal stakeholders and client groups across a number of our Australian operations. Whilst there is a high degree of autonomy, this role is a key member of the national People and Sustainability team proactively providing support both in person and remotely.  
Note: this role is based in our North Sydney location supporting our corporate team there. However you will also support a number of site operations (particularly in Whyalla, SA) so there is an expectation of regular regional / remote travel.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Provide coaching, guidance and support to operational leaders in relation to a range of people / HR matters including policy & practice, organisational capability, employee relations & employee engagement;
  • HR project management experience (e.g. transition of businesses, mergers / acquisitions etc);
  • Experience with strategic HR activities such as workforce planning, job design and organisational development;
  • Working closely with the national resourcing team to ensure that a workforce planning approach is utilised to resource relevant business groups; and
  • Assist with the implementation of a broad and diverse range of people initiatives, programs and processes.
 The successful applicant will possess the following:
  • Degree qualified in human resources, business management or related discipline;
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role, supporting a predominantly blue-collar workforce within a related industry (e.g. transport / logistics, mining, construction, utilities, manufacturing etc);
  • Previous ER experience, including strong knowledge of relevant employment legislation and regulations;
  • Experience in managing employee relations matters including enterprise agreement negotiations and disciplinary investigations;
  • Sound knowledge of principles and procedures for HR policy implementation, resourcing and retention, learning and development and performance management;
  • Ability to work in collaboration with a geographically remote team; and
  • Proven experience in managing and implementing projects and strategic change initiatives.
