The National Basketball League are looking for an eager Community Programs Officer to join their team for a temporary Part Time Contract.

The National Basketball League (NBL) is responsible for the management and delivery of the men's professional basketball league in Australia and New Zealand. 

With a focus on continued success, the NBL's vision is to maintain its position as a leading sport entertainment product by ensuring that the NBL solidifies itself as a brand of national and international significance in the eyes of the media as well as the sporting and general public. 

The Community Programs Officer will report to the General Manager of Major Events & Programs to ensure the successful delivery of our Gametime by Kmart program, as well as developing new community programs across the National Basketball League.

The Role:
  • Deliver all Community programs across the National Basketball League in a timely manner
  • Ensure commercial partner benefits associated to all Community Programs are achieved
  • Manage the database collection and club & associations incentive scheme for all Community Programs
  • Develop and implement the curriculum for all Community programs
  • Create new opportunities to increase revenue across all Community Programs
  • Identify and grow participants numbers across all Community Programs to increase community awareness and engagement
  • Managing working with children and necessary paperwork across the National Basketball League and all relevant clubs & associations
  • Support internal & external stakeholders to understand and implement Community Programs objectives
  • Ensure relevant schedules & documentation are completed by all NBL clubs and delivery partners for the Community Programs
Knowledge & Skills Required: 
  • Experience working across Community Programs or Events, particularly in sport
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Understanding of the sports the industry
  • Highly organised with strong time management skills
  • Ability to take direction and also demonstrate initiative
  • Exception problem-solving skills
  • Valid Working with Children's Check
