James Hardie is currently looking for a proactive, experienced Distribution & Freight Manager to drive operational improvement and DIFOT performance of our site based in Rosehill, NSW.
You will work closely with our manufacturing and customer service departments to manage warehouse operations, loading and distribution activities for a major manufacturing site.
Key responsibilities:
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture in the team through lean principles
  • Develop team members and bench strength for key positions to support ongoing operations
  • Drive development and implementation of best practice standards in all operations
  • Implement tactics and projects within the functional area to support departmental Monthly management of warehouse costs
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to operate safe and efficient operations within unit cost targets
  • Daily management of warehouse and loading operations to safely and efficiently manage customer pickups, inbound and outbound transfers, and customer deliveries
  • Identify ongoing systematic issues and work closely with production, finishing, production scheduling, inventory control and freight to address these
  • Manage stocktake and cycle count processes to ensure stock level accuracy
  • Plan, allocate and source daily freight requirements for deliveries, customer pickups and transfers according to required timeframes
  • Manage disruptions and provide timely feedback to customers and internal stakeholders regarding delays
  • Act as a safety leader at all times

About you
  • Degree qualified with a major in supply chain management or related field preferred
  • Leadership experience in a warehouse and logistics environment
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to problem solve quickly and make decisions
  • Hands-on and collaborative, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience with Inventory Management systems
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
