We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated 1st Year Gardening Apprentice to work with Local Council based in Lilydale. 

As an AGA Apprentice you will be trained on the job by qualified gardeners and attend Tafe to complete a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens.  
  
Responsibilities:
  • Plant and transplant flowers, shrubs, trees and lawns
  • Maintain gardens, parks and reserves by fertilising and trimming
  • Prune trees and hedges
  • Attend to sporting grounds
  • Operate and install irrigation and drainage systems 
Role Selection Criteria:
  • Enjoy practical outdoor work
  • Able to undertake manual and at times heavy work
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Requirements:
  • Drivers licence preferred (P's accepted) 
  • Cert II Horticulture (highly regarded, but not essential) 
  • Willing to undertake a Police Check/Medical/Working with Children check)
  • Genuine interest in Gardening
AGA Apprentices will:
  • Attend accredited RTO/TAFE training
  • Receive ongoing mentoring & support
  • Receive a weekly wage including entitlements
  • Obtain personal protective equipment
