The Opportunity

Our client is quickly becoming a leader in their industry and is undertaking an exciting expansion strategy that will see the company go through rapid growth in the medium term. Their head office is centrally located in the heart of Melbourne.

Focused on continual improvement and best practice, this position will play a key role managing the finance function working closely with the Directors and other key senior executives across the business. You will play a pivotal role in the group’s results and lead ongoing process improvement and change management opportunities. 

If you are a dynamic finance professional who has prior experience in Audit at PwC, KPMG, Deloitte or EY and have subsequently moved into industry in small to medium sized entrepreneurial environment, this could be a genuine opportunity to make a real difference to the future landscape of the business.  In turn, the opportunity can provide you with a platform in consolidating your leadership skills and promote your career advancement working with some of the most well connected members of the Melbourne business community.  

The Challenge

Working closely with the Directors, you will use your finance skill in this multi-functional role that is responsible for the complete financial management of all group entities. Leading a team of 2, you will be responsible for: 
  • Financial and management accounting for all four entities
  • Weekly KPI reporting and presentations to the board
  • Completion of month-end activities including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions and month-end reporting
  • Financial analysis including budget preparation, forecasting and cost analysis
  • Maintaining strong relationships with banking partners including covenant reporting 
  • Maintaining strong relationships with the external accountants 
  • Cashflow analysis and working capital management 
  • Leading and mentoring the team 
  • Strategic analysis including deep dives with an aim to provide richer insights for key business decision making
