About the role and you:
Want to be a part of a dynamic national team who is instrumental is saving lives and reducing road trauma through innovation and practical road-based solutions for the transport system?  Our National Transport Safety Team is seeking a highly motivated Engineer / Scientist with strong focus on Road Safety / Road Design/ Traffic Management to join our Port Melbourne team.  The successful candidate will be proactive, and accountable whilst pursuing technical excellence for all work outputs.
This integral role will contribute to the overall performance of the Melbourne Road Transport Safety Team, including developing, maintaining and enhancing client relationships whilst maintaining quality and output of work completed.  As a Transport Safety professional, the role will also contribute to the delivery of local, State and National projects and initiatives.

In this position you will:
  • Lead the delivery of significant projects and make contributions to project and program bids
  • Contribute to technical outcomes of projects, ensure technical correctness of input to ensure the technical quality and rigour of outputs are adhering to the high level of ARRB standards
  • Identify and follow up work opportunities through contacts and professional knowledge
  • Be highly skilled in leading the preparation of bids, proposals and be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships
  • Take responsibility for decision making on delivery of projects to agreed output, budget, quality, rigor and timetable requirements
 We seek an individual who has:
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering (civil, mechanical, traffic, etc), Road Safety or Equivalent Research Degree
  • 10-15 years’ relevant consulting/practical and or other experience
  • Experience within Local, State, or Federal Government Road Agencies highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge in road safety engineering
  • Highly developed collaboration skills, demonstrated experience in working with experts/professionals from multiple business/disciplinary areas
  • Demonstrable ability to lead a team to a successful outcome
