The Position

This is a critical role where you will be responsible for beginning to end operations and customer service - from jog registration, right through to cartage coordination. Suitable for a driven individual with initiative and superior attention to detail. Duties will include:
  • Execute operational tasks booking job orders, arrange imports, overseas pick ups, container delivery, international logistics, customs clearance, cartage coordination and container pick up.
  • Create, maintain and complete job shipment files in CargoWise.
  • Create, maintain and complete all relevant paperwork/commercial documents (shipment requests, AWBs, BOLs, Commercial Invoices, Special Instructions, Pre-Alerts, etc).
  • Co-ordinate shipments with relevant local and international vendors.
  • Cost, input, maintain, approve accurate shipment costs and revenue information then generate client invoices.
  • Maintain clients and vendors relationships ensuring service expectations are communicated and preserved.
  • Monitor and keep clients updated with shipment status, exceptions and solutions.
  • Provide assistance and resolve customer complaints regarding service issues in a timely manner.
  • Source and obtain services and rates.
  • General administration duties.

The Requirements

To be considered for this role, you require:
  • Strong CargoWise experience in all modules relevant to the role.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook experience.
  • Well-developed freight forwarding experience in (sea & air) import operations and customer service with a freight forwarder.
  • Capability to identify and meet customer special needs.
  • Experience within a small to medium freight forwarder - proven previous experience in the same role, (3-4 years prefered).
  • Already understand and ability to produce commercial documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understand the importance of listening to the client and providing service, based on their needs.
  • Commercial attitude.
  • Possess drive and motivation.
  • Critical forward thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and multitask. 
  • Proven problem solver.
  • Can do attitude and a team player who can work autonomously.
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident only.
