Customs Compiler / Cartage Coordinator

Opportunity for compiler looking for a diverse role. Position includes compiling then some classifying, cartage coordination, reports and admin tasks.

The Client
  
Family owned Australian Freight Forwarder with a small fun and professional team based in Condell Park. Pride themselves in offering effective and professional, yet personal service to their clients. Services include Import/Export, Air & Sea Forwarding, Customs Consultancy and Brokerage, Transport, 3PL, Warehousing, Personal Effect Shipments & Project Cargo.

The Position

As a Compiler, you will support the Customs Broker with the following tasks:
  • Provide Customs data entry support
  • Check Commercial Documentation is complete and correct
  • Update shipment/job files
  • Liaise with clients and carriers
  • Ensure all Commercial Documents are submitted within required timeframe
  • Assist Customs Broker with entry preparation (this may include classifying).
  • Run periodic reports
  • Ad hoc admin tasks as required
As a Cartage Coordinator, you will perform the following tasks:
  • Co-ordinate LCL, FCL and AF cartage national delivery requirements
  • Prealert clients of arrival and delivery plans
  • Assist to resolve any customs and DAFF issues to facilitate clearance and delivery
  • Liaise with transport carriers and internal departments regarding shipment status
  • Calculate and prepare shipment charges
  • Investigate and solve internal transport and customs service issues
  • Understand customer delivery requirements (tail lift, hiabb, side loader, drop trailer, etc.)
  • Run periodic reports
  • Ad hoc admin tasks as required
  
The Requirements

This role would suit someone who has Australian Customs or Australian Freight Forwarding experience. Would be beneficial for someone who is currently studying the Customs Brokerage course or enjoys compiling/classifying and wants some variety in their day. This is a permanent role; only those looking for long term employment with the following criteria should apply:

  • EDI skillset – CargoWise preferred
