Due to Kordia securing a number of major IBC projects across Australia we are seeking 2 Trade Assistants or Cable Installers to join our team.

  • Installation/hauling of Coaxial Cables, Splitters, Couplers & Antennas
  • Full training provided Trades Assistants adept at using hand and power tools
  • Hendra base with frequent site based travel

The opportunity: 
  
Kordia is currently going through an exciting period of growth, securing a number of major In Building Coverage (DAS) projects and a result we are looking for multiple Cable Installers to work as part of the Specialised Coverage Solutions Team within Kordia.  
  
The role:

This is a very hands on role involving the use of power and hand tools.  Once trained the role will see you provide installations of distributed antenna systems (DAS) which will include the installation/hauling of coaxial cable, splitters, couplers and antennas as directed by our Deployment Specialists and/or Leading Hands. The role will also involve passive components, and terminating / testing of connectors.

What we are looking for:
  
This role will suit a Trade Assistant or existing Cable Installer who is adept at using power tools, hand tools and is 'practically-minded'.  You'll need to be happy to work a range of day and night shifts dependant on project requirements.  

Suitable experience would include
  • Cabling installation experience in electrical / communications or equivalent BUT this is not essential
  • Practical experience in using hand tools, ladders and drills
  • A Police Check is required for this role
  • Willingness for physical work and ability to work at heights when required.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to sites across the state and interstate for installations
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills, good grasp of English and be able to communicate well with staff
  • Understanding of quality systems, OH&S and regulatory compliance
  • Other accreditation such as White Card (Construction Industry), EWP, Working at Heights 
  • Possession of a Telecommunications Cabling Licence, or commit to obtaining a licence as directed
  • Current Australian drivers’ licence
  • Willingness to do a large percentage of shift work
