The opportunity:
We are currently going through an exciting period of growth and are looking for a solid Field Technician to assist with delivery on a long term existing maintenance contract on a critical radio network and assist with delivery on a range of other telecommunications projects we have currently throughout SA, as well as in the pipeline.

The role:
Located at our Regency Park offices/depot, this role will see you assist with carrying out mission critical communications projects throughout South Australia. 
Reporting to the State Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Routine Maintenance Inspection tasks of customer equipment and facilities at established Radio Communication sites
  • 24/7 On Call support on a roster basis
  • Installation, commissioning, maintenance of Client Radio Network systems
  • Installation, commissioning, maintenance of Client DC power systems
  • Installation and Maintenance of customer microwave backbone equipment
  • Installation and maintenance of antenna and feeder cables on mono poles, roof tops and towers which will require regular climbing and working at heights
  • Ensuring that QHSE Policy requirements are observed and followed

What we are looking for:
We are targeting an experienced Radio / Telecommunication Technician with a minimum of 3 years experience. You will need to have experience with the maintenance and installation of radio network equipment – P25, VHF/UHF, Microwave links

In addition to this we are seeking Technicians with the following:

  • A certificate or diploma certification with Electro-Technology or Telecommunications engineering 
  • Industry Construction Card
  • Australian (C Class) Drivers Licence for a manual vehicle
  • 2+ years' experience installing and commissioning P25, VHF/UHF, microwave network equipment
  • Experience installing and commissioning of DC Rectifiers, Batteries and DC power distribution
  • Experience installing and commissioning of transmission systems including PDH, SDH, DWDM, ATM, IP and Carrier Ethernet
  • Analytical approach to fault resolution and use of test equipment
  • High levels of verbal and written communications skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly to site across the state for installations and possibly interstate
  • Experience in installation and maintenance of antenna and feeder cables on monopoles, roof tops and towers (desirable)
  • Willingness to climb, work at heights with ability to comfortably operate at heights regularly (i.e. ability to climb 30 metre monopoles and towers is required – training provided)
  • Must provide, or be willing to undergo a Police Clearance Check.
