National Procurement and Logistics Manager


Strategic leadership role driving the procurement and logistics function across our business. Manage, build and monitor supplier relationships.

The role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the procurement and logistics function nationally across Australia.  The function is the backbone to ensuring that our major Telecommunications programs of work are delivered in a timely, quality and cost effective manner.

The role reports directly to the CFO and has a procurement and logistics team reporting into the role. 

The role has overall responsibility for:
  • Sourcing, building and monitoring of both service and material supplier relationships to deliver long term market appropriate rates and capacity.
  • Client reporting and liaison to ensure effective management of the key Logistics/Procurement programmes
  • In conjunction with Business leads run governance meetings with key subcontractors and internal stakeholders to ensure the relationships are sustainable and are delivering mutual value.
  • Working with business leads to identify areas of opportunity/innovation to drive cost efficiencies in the business through either alternate supplier engagement models or supply chain process changes
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans that deliver sustainable cost reductions in conjunction with business leads.
  • Partnering with onshore/offshore organisations to identify and develop their delivery capability to deliver Kordia savings and capacity requirements  
  • Overseeing of the subcontractor prequalification process
  • Overseeing of the fleet management function
  • Overseeing of the logistics and materials function including optimal scheduling and forecasting of plant, materials and FIM. 
  • Overseeing of the warehouse function
  • Overseeing of the plant and equipment supplier relationships and management and monitoring of RFX
  • Management of office leasing across Kordia's 7 office/warehouse locations.
  • Monitoring and approval of significant supplier purchase orders
The person

We are seeking a strategically minded person, with strong procurement skills in a subcontracting and material management (client and own) environment.   

Targeted skills include:
  • Ability to work with internal stakeholders to forge strong relationships and influence outcomes
  • Specialist knowledge of procurement concepts, processes, activities and trends.
  • A solid background in telecommunication deployment project delivery
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Advanced analytical interpretation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, coupled with people and project management skills.
  • Change management and customer service skills.
