Our client is a high-profile Stockbroker who has focused on serving investors, companies and governments for over 50 years. They provide investment banking, sales, trading, research and strategy across equities, fixed income, FX, exchange, futures, commodities and asset and wealth management strategies. They are currently in need of hiring an Equity Operations Associate to provide full operational office support to the Australian equity business.
The successful candidate will represent the team and department in a professional, collaborative and commercially aware manner. Excellent communication skills will also be essential, as the role will involve close collaboration with other areas in the business, such as Front and Middle Offices, Legal, Compliance and Static Data.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform daily operations of middle office and settlement team for Australian & New Zealand equity markets
  • Ensuring the daily activities are carried out for different lines of business, including trade processing, desk support, client service, cash management, new account opening and break reconciliation.
  • Release payment and swift instruction for the local team as well as the regional team if needed.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner as a team player in matrixed Middle Office team.
  • Escalate any issues to manager in timely manner in order to prevent or minimize any operational loss.
  • Participant various projects, including testing to support new business and process improvement
The successful candidate will have:
  • 4+ years’ Equity Operations experience
  • Understanding of the post execution trade lifecycle from booking, allocation, confirmation and settlement
  • Client-focused mindset with ability to provide excellent service to both clients and internal stakeholders across the business, including Senior Management
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to resolve exceptions and queries in time-critical environment
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience using IRESS, Fidessa or Gloss (desirable)
  • Can-do attitude to support fast growing business
  • Tertiary qualifications highly regarded
