Why is this role for me?

Due to an increasing demand for API connectivity from third party software providers and corporate clients, our client is seeking a Product Manager who will be responsible for leading the development of a new API platform as well as integrating new systems into the business.
You will utilise skills in, and understanding of:
  • Product management
  • Commercial leadership
  • Design
  • Marketing and Distribution
  • Partner engagement and Sales
  • Liaising with the group Technical Architect
  • Collaborating with broader IT teams
  • Integration of CRM systems and website technology
What will my day to day look like?

You will ensure that the business is on a path of sustainable growth by identifying external market opportunities and implementing opportunities to innovate. You will ensure that the business has an efficient, cost effective operating model to deliver high quality data and services.
You will:
  • Lead the evolution of APIs from traditional system-oriented pieces of code to enable system-to-system communication
  • Develop a suite of consumer focussed, demand driven API products, accessed via a contemporary developer portal.
  • Define an appropriate API roadmap.
  • Understand what consumers are trying to achieve and the importance of delivering a great developer experience
  • Take responsibility for Strategic Development
  • Demonstrate Commercial Awareness
  • Ensure you are providing customers and clients with an excellent service
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in processes, practices, or procedures
  • Actively collaborate with and communicate constructively with other team members including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and IT Development teams.
What skills or experience will I need?

This role will require can-do attitude and ability to deliver quick wins, demonstrate market interest and encourage further investment. You are highly professional, commercially astute, articulate, energetic and emotionally intelligent.
  
You have:  
  • Strong background in and an excellent understanding of API's
  • Demonstrated high level strategic, analytical, decision making and commercial skills
  • Experience driving the product roadmap and assisting the team through ongoing iterative improvement and prioritisation
  • Ability to translate business concepts to technical concepts and vice versa
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people across the businesses
  • An ability to work independently and understand appropriate accountability
  • Proven demonstration of initiative, creativity and follow-through
  • A good knowledge and understanding of positioning, packaging, and pricing from a Project Manager perspective
  • The ability to get your hands dirty and be fully immersed in the role
  • The willingness to travel to client locations at times, to fully execute your role.
