Succession Recruitment is Sydney's top financial services specialist recruitment agency. Our client currently has a great opportunity for a Taxation Manager to ensure their processes and systems are compliant and to mitigate the tax risks.

What will my day to day look like?

You will report to the Head of Client Taxation & ATO Reporting and will oversee the tax services delivered ensuring that they are complete, accurate and on time. As a manager, you will lead a team of taxation professionals and will utilise your background and understanding of tax compliance and tax advisory for managed investment funds to inspire and motivate the team.
You will:
  • Be responsible for the delivery of all tax services to clients.
  • Manage and lead a small team with a positive and exemplary style.
  • Provide tax technical advice to teams across the company.
  • Identify the tax implications of key change projects.
  • Represent the company at industry forums.
  • Review distributable income calculations for managed investment funds
  • Liaise with external tax parties.
  • Coordinate the BAS timetable for managed investment funds & LIC’s
  • Draft and maintain Trust Distribution & GST policies.
  • Interact with external tax advisors, account managers, fund managers and other stakeholders
  • Manage quality control of service providers
  • Manage distribution timetables – annual & quarterly
  • Prepare and review annual tax returns, BAS and tax payments of managed investment trusts.
  • Manage ATO audits, reviews, etc
What skills or experience will I need?

You will have 5-10 years of Tax Accounting experience from a Custodian with an understanding of tax law and the compliance & regulatory issues of managed investment trusts. This will include a background and understanding of tax operations.
