The Client

Our client is a high-profile land and property development group delivering some of Sydney’s largest and most innovative residential and mixed-use projects.

The Role

The role is responsible for acting as a Finance Business Partner for a portfolio of development projects. Partnering with the Development and Project teams, you’ll provide finance expertise on development feasibilities, project accounting, cashflow forecasting and reporting on project performance against budgets and forecasts

Duties & Responsibilities include
  • Provide expert advice on project accounting, internal controls, interpretation of Project Delivery Agreements and distribution waterfalls for a portfolio of Development Projects.
  • Partner with Business Development and Project teams to review and assess project and stage feasibilities, advise on transaction and waterfall structures.
  • Partner with project teams in the budgeting and forecasting process including multi-year budgets for projects ensuring alignment to strategic targets.
  • The preparation of detailed and accurate financial information including expenditure, cost controls and cash-flows.
  • Analyse, review and report on project expenditure, budget and income variations and implement best practice monitoring processes to support effective project management.
The Successful Applicant

To be successful in the role, you’ll have the following skills and experience:
  • CA/CPA qualification.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of property development with a working knowledge of the construction, building, property and land development industries.
  • Extensive project accounting, budgeting & forecasting, financial planning and cashflow preparation /management experience gained in a project related environment.
  • Strong strategic planning, forward thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.
