Financial Controller


Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our client within the Construction and Property industry.

Our client is a Western Australian owned and operated company specialising in Construction and Property. The company’s head office is based in Perth's CBD and currently seeking an experienced and Financial Controller to join their team.

The position will be part of the leadership group and drive both the day to day operations and future growth of the business. Our client is looking for a Finance allrounder and someone that is extremely motivated. This is a hands on role and will require you to get your hands dirty. 

This role will be commencing in March due to incumbent in the role. 

About the Role:

In order to be successful or considered for the role you will need to have experience in the below responsibilities: 
  • A strong background in Financial and Management reporting for the Business including Statutory reporting requirements.
  • Previous background in Analysis of operating results and recommendations on how to improve the business. 
  • Oversee the Payroll & AP/AR function
  • Provide advice and review Banking and finance facilities
  • Budgets and forecasting and cashflow management
  • Maintenance and development of internal control policies and procedures
  • Oversee and support AR/AP and general accounting functions
  • Corporate policies and procedures
  • Review of commercial contracts with clients and suppliers
  • Negotiations with Clients, Suppliers and Vendors to maximise outcomes
Experience Required:
  • Must be CPA/CA qualified.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a hands on financial role
  • Previous experience in a Senior Finance role
  • Experience in commercial negotiations with clients and suppliers
  • Previous Australia experience in a Senior Finance position
  • Proven analytical, financial and reporting skills.
  • Team supervision of AR/AP and payroll
  • Be able to advise the business on contractual and commercial risks
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to confidently deal with a variety of stakeholders.
