On the back of recent growth and significant changes in industry policy, this progressive organisation is looking to appoint a Tax Accountant who can proactively enhance the existing tax processes and support business decision making.
The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and the CFO, this  role will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following key responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all Group taxation matters, including tax planning, strategy and compliance.
  • Planning, preparing and lodging all tax returns, including managing the systems and processes that generate tax data and information.
  • This is a hands-on role that requires the candidate to manage and continually improve the Group’s end-to end taxation process.
  • Compliance with all federal and state taxation obligations.
  • The efficient preparation of FBT and income tax returns, ensuring the Group is benefiting from available tax incentives and savings.
  • Oversight of the monthly BAS process.
  • Tax effect accounting and the tax-related components of the financial reporting process.
  • Investigating whether the Business is taking full advantage of R&D tax breaks and any other tax-efficient opportunities
  • Liaison with the ATO

You are a high calibre individual who will help elevate the tax function to the next level and build credibility with key stakeholders.

Key to this role will be: 
  • CA/CPA qualifications or equivalent,
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills,
  • Exceptional communication and the ability to thrive in environments undergoing change,
  • Your ability to be a self-starter, outcome-driven and someone who enjoys collaborating across small teams.
  • Ideally, you would have a big 4 tax/private clients background or strong second-tier experience, with relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • You may be looking for your first step into commerce or have a couple of years of relevant commercial experience within a large privately owned business
