The Company
An exciting full time, 6 month temp opportunity (with the potential to become permanent) has arisen for an experienced end to end Payroll Officer.  This organisation is a national, ASX listed, market leading FMCG business which services its growing customer base in the retail sector. Based in the South East suburbs of Melbourne, the company has grown rapidly due to recent acquisitions both locally and overseas and is expanding its diverse product portfolio.
The role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will become a vital cog in a high performing and very hands on Payroll team in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for processing fortnightly and monthly payroll and addressing payroll queries within required deadlines. In a highly visible role, you will support the Payroll Manager and provide a high level of service to key stakeholders and ensure staff are paid on time. The key duties of the role will involve the following;
  • Payroll reporting
  • Payroll processing in Chris 21 (fortnightly and monthly for approx. 900 people)
  • Payroll reconciliations
  • Payroll accruals/journals
  • Update systems/procedures
  • Updating and maintaining personal records
  • Processing new starters
  • Terminations/annual leave calculations
  • Overtime calculations
  • EBA Award and interpretation
Skills & experience

The successful candidate will obtain a strong technical knowledge of Payroll and be customer service focussed. Experience in Chris 21 or any other large systems such as SAP, Sage Micropay or Neller Preceda etc will be looked upon favourably. Ideally you will have proven experience in a similar position for a minimum of 5+ years. You will also be resilient and able to multitask and manage a high-volume workload. Also your skills will include;
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills (v look ups/pivots)
