Due to ongoing business growth, this is a superb opportunity for a Principal Engineer to manage the team, supporting and reporting to the Managing Director. This will be ideally suited to either:
  1. A Principal Engineer with demonstrated business unit, team management and engineering skills, or 
  2. An experienced Senior Structural Engineer with solid people management, business and engineering skills, and who is ready to step up to the next level
Involved in a variety of projects eg ports, mines & heavy industry, you’ll provide management support whilst managing the day to day needs of teams undertaking structural engineering designs, inspections, investigations and repair designs for a range of clients and client sites.
   
Key Responsibilities
  • Chair daily & weekly meetings with the team & other members of the Senior Management Team (SMT)
  • Coordinate with the SMT and project teams to execute work on time, budget & quality
  • Provide technical support and direction to the business generally
  • Carry out project involvement on specific higher level projects as required
  • Manage clients and some business development activities
  • Manage and coordinate project resources
Key Skills & Attributes
  • Impeccable verbal, interpersonal & written communication skills
  • High level of technical ability in structural design in materials handling industry
  • Design exp in bulk handling machines advantageous (shiploaders, stacker reclaimers to AS4324)
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor multiple engineering teams
  • Proven ability to engage with and foster strong relationships with long term clients
  • Must have RPEQ and/or CPEng
