Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) plays a critical role in the transport supply chain and in the overall economic development of Australia. We manage and operate over 8500 kms of track in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland, making us one of Australia's largest rail network owners.

Inland Rail is a once in a generation project connecting regional Australia to domestic and international markets, transforming the way freight is moved in Australia.  This new 1700km rail infrastructure project stretches from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track. The programme includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of: viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges. About the Position

The Design Manager will lead and manage the design of the 49km Brownfield Kagaru to Acacia Ridge and Bromelton project in Queensland, ensuring that design teams develop coordinated, buildable and safe designs within the scheduled timeframes, cost constraints and budget approvals.

In addition you will lead, manage and mentor Project Delivery Engineers to achieve ARTC's design objectives for all aspects of the project.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:- 
  • 10+ years experience in major infrastructure projects, together with management of design work for major rail projects
  • High level conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to analyse and resolve complex issues
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (civil/rail/geotechnical) CPEng/RPEQ
  • High level written and oral communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes as well as guiding the performance of team members
