A new opportunity exists for a Procurement and Contracts Support Lead.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Procurement and Contracts Support Manager, the Procurement and Contracts Support Lead will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of the Procurement and Contracts Support team to optimise the tendering and contracting assistance provided to the business units and to work in a close and collaborative manner with the Strategic Sourcing team whilst providing integrated solutions to the business units.

The position will also develop strategic stakeholder relationships within business units, assist with contract amendment support as required, as well as specific contract administration activities, negotiate contract terms whilst delivering exceptional customer service. You will build an understanding of relevant processes and provide independent review and advice where required.

In this position you will have regular communication and interaction with the wider Procurement and Contracts team across the business and external suppliers.

Your ability to be able to travel nationally within the dimensions of your role will be highly regarded.

About You:

Knowledge, skills and experience required for this role:
• Tertiary qualifications in strategic sourcing and contracting or related discipline or proven relevant experience.
• Demonstrated sourcing/contract/supply management experience with a preference towards construction and indirect procurement in a medium to large company environment.
• Experience with contracts, planning and finance systems in a large national company and a good knowledge of the relevant process flows.
• Good understanding of contracting / purchasing principles acts and legislation relative to commercial agreements, vendors and the management, selection and vetting of suppliers.
• Ability to fully understand, promote and monitor compliance of ARTC policy and procedure.
• A very good understanding of Work Health and Safety obligations and safety in construction.
• Well-developed skills in commercial acumen, negotiation, influencing and problem solving.
• Culturally resilient and capable of managing change in a challenging environment.
• Clear and concise oral and written communications skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the company, supplier representatives and management.
• The ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to outstanding customer service and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and drive effective outcomes in a fast-changing environment.
• Honest and ethical approach and a clear understanding of ethical practices and probity within a large organisation.
• Proficiency in utilising Microsoft Office and databases.

Desirable for this role:
• Knowledge of the rail industry.
• CIPs accreditation.
• Knowledge of tendering and the legislation and CPR’s related to Commonwealth Funded Projects.
