HCA are seeking registered Psychologists for urgent locum positions working with children and adolescents in Bush fire affected areas.
About the Locum:

    • Batemans Bay,
    • Bega
    • Bodalla
    • Cooma/Bombala
    • Tumbarumba/Batlow
    • Casino,
    • Ballina,
    • Grafton,
    • Coffs Harbour,
    • Kempsey,
    • Firster,
    • Maitland, and possibly other locations in Regional NSW, Sydney Metro and Newcastle Metro
  • The requirement will usually be in a block format of weeks, but this may vary. 
  • Commitment to work would be 3-5 days per week approx. 
  • Assessment tools will be provided
  • Seeking resources locally but will consider travel reimbursement for candidates who do not live in the area.
  • You will be reimbursed for any kilometers in excess of 90 kilometers in total, per day. 
  • If you are required to stay overnight you will be reimbursed.
  • Paid weekly, hourly rates varies depending on experience and whether you require travel reimbursement $70 - $90 per hour plus super
Services provided will include:
  • Counselling and therapeutic interventions for children and young people using evidence-based interventions (pre-school to year 12)
  • Administration and interpretation of cognitive, educational, emotional and behavioural assessment of children and young people using standardised measures that have sound psychometric properties (reliability and validity).
  • Written and/or verbal feedback on interventions and assessments to the school and parents/carers as required.
  • Working collaboratively with the Principal, the Learning and Support Team, classroom teachers, parents/carers and the School Counselling Service to support student well being outcomes.
  • Maintaining confidential student file notes and case notes as directed by DoE NSW Psychology Leaders and/or regional Senior Psychologist.
Essential requirements:
  • Full registration as a psychologist with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience delivering psychological services in educational or similar settings
  • Experience conducting standardized assessments WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, WAIS-IV
  • Experience conducting general counselling to children and adolescents
  • Children and Police Clearance
