Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a national organisation specialising in providing recruitment services to the health and care industry throughout Australia.  HCA Community Care division focuses on providing experienced workers to support Adults and Children in a community setting.

The Role - Youth Worker
Working with Adults and Children in a variety of settings including Adult Residential, Residential Out of Home care, Contact supervision.  Shifts are located in Toowoomba & surrounding regions.  Duties may include, though not limited to:
  • Daily living assistance including meal preparation, cleaning
  • Personal care prompting and assistance 
  • Community Access and transportation
  • Providing positive behaviour support
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Minimum 12 months Paid experience working in a similar role
  • Hold or willing to obtain a QLD WWCC (Blue Card) and QLD Positive Notice (Yellow Card)
  • Hold or studying a Certificate in IV or higher in a related field
  • Flexible availability - Able to cover AM/PM, Sleepovers, Weekends shifts as required
  • First Aid Certificate issued within the last 3 years (or willing to obtain)
  • CPR Certificate issued within the last 12 months (or willing to obtain)
  • Evidence of work rights (e.g. Passport or Birth Certificate)
  • Unrestricted QLD Driver Licence
  • Comprehensively insured vehicle that can be used for work purposes
  • Smartphone(iOS or Android)
Highly regarded skills and experience:
  • Experience supporting complex and challenging behaviours including verbal/physical aggression, property damage and self-harm
  • Experience and training in complex supports such as PEG feeding/management, epilepsy, Manual Handling (hoisting)
  • MAYBO or other Behaviour support Training is highly regarded
  • Hold or be working toward a relevant Qualification (Cert IV or higher)
