About the role
Responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
  • Full responsibility for business performance and professional standards of practice for a multi-disciplinary team within the Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU)
  • 35 low dependency beds and 8 high dependency beds.
  • The position works in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Consultants 
  • Reporting directly to the Program Manager / Nursing Director.
  • To ensure that all team members are receiving clinical supervision. 
  • Maintains high standards for the safety of patients and staff alike
  • Demonstrate human resource management skills
  • Manage the performance appraisal and development of unit and team
  • Promote and develop a positive work culture and environment
About You- Requirements for the role

  • Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): You will be required to provide evidence of vaccinations or proof that they are not susceptible  to the following VPD's Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis containing vaccine) according to the Queensland Health Policy. 
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent - Mandatory
  • Relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing. Highly Desirable
  • Credentialed with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN). If not, then eagerness to undertake the requirements for certification -Highly Desirable
  • Appointment as an Authorized Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016 or the willingness to complete- Highly Desirable
  • Nursing: Successful appointment to this position requires proof of qualifications & registration with AHPRA and possession of a current certificate. 
  • Strong Work Ethic- demonstrate excellent knowledge and best practice in an Acute environment

  • $116,092 - $126,037 per annum ( dependent on experience )
  • 12.5% employer superannuation
  • 17.5% leave loading
  • Additional Annual leave ( 5 weeks annual leave per annum )
