The role

Healthcare Australia is seeking committed Disability Support Workers with experience supporting clients that have high behaviours of concern (BOC) for ongoing shifts in Ivanhoe, Victoria. 

The primary duties of the role include:
-
Supporting NDIS participants to reach their set goals in life
-Taking the participant out into the community
-Taking the participant to their doctor’s appointment
-Building a good relationship rapport with the participant
-Assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, domestic tasks and transportation
-Providing one on one support to the NDIS participants within their homes
-Helping the participant with other living aspects, as specified by their NDIS plan.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum of 3 months paid experience in supporting people with disabilities.
Two relevant, professional and industry related reference checks.
Working with Children’s Check, or willing to obtain one
• Have a current, or willing be to obtain a First Aid (HLTAID003) and CPR (HLTAID001) certificate.
• Willing to undergo a police check 
• Car, Drivers Licence and Full Comprehensive Insurance
• Must have Experience with Challenging Behaviours
• Experience working with Intellectual Disabilities is desirable
