About the role: Working with Adults and Children in a variety of settings including SILs, Day Programs, Community Access, Residential Facilities and In Home Support. Supporting high challenging and complex behaviours with high care requirements. Shifts are located in a variety of locations in Townsville and surrounding areas. Some duties may include but are not limited to:
Variety of shifts available - work when you want to. Flexibility to work around family, work or study commitments
- Daily living assistance including meal preparation and domestic duties
- Personal care prompting and assistance
- Medications Assistance
- Community Access and transportation
- Providing positive behaviour support
- minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting clients with severe intellectual disability and complex needs
- First Aid certificate, dated within the last 3 years (or willing to obtain)
- CPR certificate, dated within the last 12 months (or willing to obtain)
- Queensland Blue (Working With Children card) and Yellow (Positive Notice card) or willing to obtain
- Evidence of work rights (Australian passport or birth certificate or Working Visa)
- Queensland open drivers licence
- Smartphone access
- Experience supporting complex and challenging behaviours including verbal/physical aggression, property damage and self-harm
- Experience and training in complex supports such as PEG feeding/management, epilepsy, Manual Handling (hoisting)
- Experience administering medication
- MAYBO/TCI or other behaviour support training
- Hold or be working towards a relevant qualification (Cert IV or higher)
- Comprehensively insured vehicle that can be used for work purposes
