About the Role

Healthcare Australia is pleased to be assisting an Australian owned laser eye surgery in Kingsford, who are looking for a Ophthalmology Nurse Unit Manager. Ophthalmology nursing experience is required.

As a successful Ophthalmology Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide direction, support and guidance to the care team to ensure they are effectively engaged in the delivery of appropriate care to the patients.

You will be involved in:

Overseeing the implementation of NSQHS standards.
Providing orientation to theatre workflow for Clinical staff, VMO’s and Agency staff.
Supervising and ensuring competency of clinical staff in theatre via annual competency and implementation of Ophthalmic Theatre Program.
ACORN standards for Perioperative Nursing.
Ensuring that staff are fully aware of FEC Infection Control and patient care procedures

As the successful Nurse Unit Manager, you will have:

Current registration with APRHA
6 years’ post basic or post graduate nursing experience
2 years’ administrative experience in a position of, or more senior than that of, Nursing Unit Manager in a hospital
Communicate effectively with all team members and patients
Able to lead Team.
Able to work independently.
Able to attend to detail
