Electrical Project Engineer/Electrical Design Engineer

Recruitment Revolution is excited to be working with a leading OEM of specialist equipment for the mining, water, defense and transport industries. Their key strength lies in large-scale project management and enjoy a strong reputation for delivering national projects.
  
Due to continued growth and the success in winning several large tenders to design, build and install/commission material handling projects our client has a newly created role for an Electrical Project Engineer/Electrical Design Engineer to be based in Newcastle.

In this role you will be projects focused and you will be expected to bring together various engineering disciplines providing critical information and expertise to the project team and will included;

  • AutoCad Drafting
  • Technical and Contractual document preparation and drafting on word and excel, as well
  • When required, take a senior role on specified projects
  • Participate in the development of project engineering budgets and schedules
  • Provide discipline support to project teams
  • Identify project risk and address risk mitigation measures
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest standards, legislation, products and practices relating to the relevant engineering discipline to reinforce professional competency
  • Oversee overall technical quality, integrity and adequacy of designs
  • Manage "Requests for Information" from clients and contractors
  • Provide scope control and scope communication to all parties
  • Review and coordinate engineering input into procurement and construction contract packages
  • Review tender evaluations, bid clarifications and recommendations
  • Scrutinize project components to enhance value of the capital investment
  • Regularly visit project sites to track progress
  • Coordinate with site for engineering needs
  • Ensure that equipment designs, installation standards and work practices are compliant with the appropriate electrical regulatory requirements, industry codes of practice and company safety standards
  General Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering highly regarded
  • Strong experience across both electrical software and hardware 
  • Excellent communication and client management experience
  • To be able to work autonomously
  • Minimum of 2 years Australian experience
