Exciting, innovative Engineering company that has designed and manufactured bespoke products for key industries including aerospace, defence, mining, rail  automotive and general manufacturing.   Established for over 50 years this company provides complete manufacturing solutions including project management, design, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance. 

This newly created position reports to the Electrical Engineering Supervisor and involves:
  • Take ownership of concepts and turning them into design solutions from start to finish within time, budget and quality constraints,
  • Following design standards and processes to achieve professional and complete outcomes that meet requirements as defined in applicable customer specifications.
  • Create complete Electrical Schematics, Cabinet Layouts, Wiring Diagrams/Schedules, and Parts Lists such that a design can be easily manufactured,
  • Capable to see the value of technical components and negotiate fair and reasonable supply terms with the purchasing group to improve cost effectiveness of solutions,
  • Programming and preparation of items required for the commissioning process eg. PLC programs, Robot programs, CNC configurations, safety programs, HMI/SCADA programs, network setups, database integrations and other device setups in accordance with customer requirements as defined in specifications,
  • Ensure safety is a priority at all times, 
  • Working with the other parties involved in the jobs to ensure a timely completion of all machine commissioning activities,
  • Take responsibility for the complete electrical/programming commissioning process to ensure solutions are fully verified against requirements and any and all issues are addressed adequately before handover to the customer.
Skills and experience required to be successful within this expansive position include a minimum of ten years industry experience in a similar position, tertiary qualification in automation Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics), PLC and Safety systems experience, advanced analytical problem solving ability, high level written and verbal communication/customer skills, quality and cost focus.
