Our Client
Located approximately 12kms east of the CBD, our client has an established multi discipline design group with hardware, firmware and software as well as other capabilities.  They develop and manufacture advanced systems for world markets.  Their products are built around smart control systems and are aimed at maximising a scarce commodity - water.  

The Job
As a Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to utilise your skills and expertise to help build the next generation of water management products for their customers around the world.  Their team works on a range of software products and technologies, spanning cloud, web, mobile and desktops, helping their customers manage precious water resources and improving everyday life for farmers and irrigators.
About You
  • A degree or better in an IT related field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology etc.).
  • Solid experience in a commercial environment. 
  • Demonstrated track record of innovating in the software engineering and agile space.  
  • Previous experience mentoring and organising activities for junior
  • team members.  
  • Proven experience working closely with stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A minimum of 2/3+ years Angular experience - must be current
  • Backend development - Java development, Spring, Spring boot 
  • React 
  • RESTful API design 
  • Database technologies – Oracle and SQL 
  • Software development in cloud environments, especially AWS 
  • Supporting and developing applications on Linux and windows platforms
  • Container technologies – specifically Docker, Kubernetes 
  • Version control – Usage of Git
Key Responsibilities
  • Software development and maintenance of software products.  
  • Deliver value to customers through implementation of software features and automation.  
  • Provide timely and high-quality support to customers.  
  • Be an active and contributing member of a cross-functional agile dev-ops team.  
  • Take ownership of delivering customer value from requirement to operation (dev-ops).  
  • Contribute to software design and architecture of applications.  
  • Ensure all work delivered meets both functional and quality standards.  
  • Guide and mentor other team members and assist in onboarding of new hires.  
  • Actively assist in improving and driving software engineering best practices across the team.  
  • Perform code reviews, produce unit and automated tests and software releases.
