Position Summary:

Our client is one of Australia’s leading organisations specialising in the provision of project services to the insurance industry. As a Virtual Property Estimator you will be responsible for liaising and directing Field Assessors to inspect building damage to domestic properties.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Act as first point of contact/ triage for the insured
  • Create a Report and Detailed Scope of Works from customer discussions and findings
  • Ensure accurate and detailed BOM/BOQ for works allocation
  • Using your superior trade knowledge to find effective solutions for repairs, restoration and reinstatement
  • Ensure projects are scoped accurately to minimise any possible scope for variations
  • Proactively work with clients to keep them updated on claims assessment progress
  • Determine and engage with Specialist Trades as required to attend validate or report on the cause of damage
  • Ensuring close working relationship with the Customer, Claim Managers, and the trade workforce
Skills and Experience
  • Previous estimating and supervising experience in the insurance repair industry
  • Tertiary building or carpentry trade qualification to back up your experience preferred
  • Experience in conducting investigations, diagnosing and reporting on building damage, faults, maintenance and repairs
  • Previous knowledge of the building insurance market

  • Onsite experience in remedial or restorative building repairs or trade background
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities with a calm and professional approach
  • Strong systems, operational and reporting skills with a willingness to work flexible hours and be adaptable to changed routines from time to time
