ABOUT THE COMPANY AND ROLE

Our client is an innovative, interdenominational Christian College with strong faith-based values and an uncompromising commitment to providing exceptional education. 

Our client is seeking a HR Advisor to provide recruitment, HR, staffing and employment relations support and advice, employee injury support and advice and operational support to the HR Director and to campus principals, senior executives and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual who is looking to develop their Human Resources skill set. 

DUTIES
  • Research, decide and recommend solutions and advice on HR & employment relations;
  • Recruitment administration and support;
  • Provide input and feedback regarding management applications, interview and selection criteria;
  • Prepare, review and classify position descriptions in accordance with the relevant industrial instrument and in consultation with the HR Director where required;
  • Manage any WorkCover claims proactively in accordance with the Injury Framework;
  • Interact with all staff via all forms of communication that is consistent with College values;
  • Work with Payroll, Finance and Technology to insure accurate and timely information.  
SKILLS & EXPERTISE
  • Qualification in Human Resources and/or Employment relations;
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role;
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills;
  • Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute is desirable;
  • Working knowledge of Operational HR and Employment Relations;
  • Understanding of Strategic Human Resources theory and practice;
  • Knowledge of the Educational Services (Schools) Teacher Award 2010 and Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2010 is desirable;
  • Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills;
  • Able to think strategically and operationally , applying HR best practice and research for contextualization into the College environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team within all levels of the College; and
  • Keeping the Christian vision and values of the College at the forefront of decision-making and actions.
