ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is one of Australia's leading universities. They are now requiring the services of an experienced and dynamic Purchasing Services Manager to support the delivery of strategy objectives and operations and manage the Purchasing Services team. This includes managing a range of strategic and operational activities including the management of business improvements, analytics and performance reporting and enhancing productive and collaborative relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to strategic planning and the achievement of the business unit;
  • Lead and develop a highly trained and efficient team with a strong customer focus;
  • Exercise strong budget management for the business unit/s and or projects managed;
  • Lead and manage significant strategic projects, large scale review and development of policy and procedure;
  • Manage and oversee risk, compliance and quality assurance for the Purchasing services function.
SKILLS & EXPERTISE
  • Extensive management experience and proven management expertise;
  • Excellent, consulting, management and communication skills with the proven ability to strategically manage and provide authoritative technical and policy advice at a high level;
  • Strong demonstrable experience in the analysis and management of purchasing and payment data and significant knowledge and understanding of policies, processes and legislation applicable to procurement;
  • Thorough understanding of the Purchasing to Payment life cycle, compliance, policy and procedure, tax laws, GST, FBT as well as credit card acquittal;
  • Significant staff management experience;
  • Able to motivate and develop a high-performance team committed to excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Outstanding computer literacy, including experience using SAP or a similar financial management system for financial data analysis.
