The Role:

Our client is a well-established multi-disciplined business operating in the area of civil engineering construction and project management in the ACT and surrounding region, delivering infrastructure projects to government and private sector clients.  The company is solutions-oriented and strives for excellence in its staff and customer relationships.  To be eligible for consideration applicants are required to submit a Letter of Application (covering letter).

Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Estimator you will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Develop estimates for construction projects ranging from $1m to $50m from first principles
  • Obtaining quotes from subcontractors and prepare cost estimates using expert estimator software
  • Preparing tender submission documents including methodologies and tender programs
  • Preparing post tender submission responses to client for clarification on original submission
  • Providing input into improving policies and systems for the estimating of tenders and proposals
Skills and Experience:

To be considered for the role you should possess:
  • Between 2 to 4 years plus Civil estimating experience
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative
  • Ability to establish good relationships with both external and internal contacts
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Strong MS Office and IT skills
  • Civil Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Exposure to having worked on site as an engineer
  • Knowledge of Autocad preferred
  • Knowledge of estimating software “Expert Estimation” preferred
