About Your Next Role
Our client, who is located just outside of Gladstone, is now seeking to appoint a self-motivated, dynamic and proactive Reliability Engineer to join their team. Working in their Ammonium Nitrate and Sodium Cyanide plants you will possess copious amounts of initiative and the ability to think on your feet. Tasked with the responsibility for the safe operation and asset availability of mechanical systems on site, you will complying with SH&E Safety Charter and ensuring the plant meets statutory and company requirements. Other tasks that will fall under your responsibility are as follows:
  • Monitor and co-ordinate statutory inspections and testing - reporting and rectifying issues
  • Provide input into site audits, investigations, budgeting, forecast and cost controls for mechanical equipment
  • Contribute to the strategy based maintenance programs and feedback to reliability team
  • Develop, maintain and monitor the application of relevant engineering standards
  • Supervise, coordinate & delegate responsibilities to engineering personnel & contractors
  • Maintain 5 years maintenance plan
  • Participate in site based projects and improvement strategies
  • Identify and deliver CAPEX in line with site procedures
  • Analyse operational data and equipment performance history to delivery improvements in critical maintenance related metrics
  • Respond to emergency situations and break-ins as necessary
What We Need from You
We need you to be self-motivated, adaptable and have the ability to multitask. You will have experience working within a Chemical Plant and be confident in your abilities to provide engineering support to technicians. You will be efficient in managing your time and prioritising tasks. Other factors making you a success in this role:
  • Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering - suitable for RPEQ - essential
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledgeable with Ammonium Nitrate and Sodium Cyanide - desirable
  • Experience in budget management & control
  • Data collection and analysis experience
  • High problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Strong hazard identification and safety management skills
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis techniques
