Our client is a leading international legal practice and it's Employment and Labour practice group is recognised as one of the leading teams in Australia. Demand on their services has created a new opportunity for a Senior Associate to join their team with experience in Occupational Health and Safety. 

The key responsibilities and requirements for this role are as follows:

Responsibilities

  • Manage a range of safety matters including investigations, defence of criminal proceedings and advisory work
  • Conduct proceedings in a range of courts and tribunals and resolving employee and industrial relations disputes
  • Prepare briefs and instruct counsel
  • Liaise with clients and external parties
  • Assist with regulatory investigations
  • Conduct systems and compliance reviews and training
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members
  • Assist with business development and marketing initiatives
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of training for clients and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • At or around the Senior Associate level with experience gained within a reputable employment law practice
  • Specific experience in both contentious and non-contentious occupational health and safety matters, including investigations, defence of criminal proceedings and advisory work
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written, drafting and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client liaison skills
