Due to sustained growth in an expanding market, an amazing opportunity has become available for a Technical Sales Engineer to join an OEM business based in Perth.

This position is responsible for the development of sales opportunities within an existing client portfolio as well as newly referred business, both on a local and national scale.

You will drive the preparation of technical quotes and tenders, and participate in the capture of significant orders, as well as developing local opportunities. You will regularly travel to meet customers and work with  local and national clients.

Your experience in building strong relationships across a broad customer base will see you succeed in maintaining and developing this well-defined role. Through your ability to assimilate technical information and keen eye for detail, you will demonstrate your capabilities, particularly in helping to continue the growth of this business.

Your high energy and ability along with your knowledge and understanding of tendering processes will equip you to thrive in a fun environment within a small and professional team. Respectful of governance and compliance you will also possess the skills and ability to maintain quotes and offers as well as  provide accurate and timely reporting requirements of Management in regular meetings. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • You will have a keen eye for detail and possess ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Identify relevant and viable opportunities to grow sales in all product lines
  • In cooperation with the leadership team, develop and maintain a sustainable sales pipeline that supports the business target
  • Internally share all relevant information to maximise opportunities and ensuring customer requirements are met
  • Conduct ongoing customer and market research, staying aware of any shifts or changes to requirements, standards or sentiment
  • Support staff, customers and suppliers as required, including preparing/facilitating presentations providing supporting materials and information for education to internal parties in all locations
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure that deadlines are met and that opportunities are not missed
  
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
  
  • Formal technical qualifications ( engineering, mining, agriculture ) are not mandatory ( though considered positively ) but an amazing attitude to work within a fast paced and passionate team is absolutely essential
  • Knowledge and exposure to the mining, agricultural or environmental industries is advantageous
  • Ability to develop productive and positive relationships
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • To be successful in this role, you may not have previously worked in sales, but you should have experience / exposure to sales and tendering processes within a manufacturing environment.  Suitable tertiary or similar level Business or Construction Management qualification/certification is advantageous
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Word, Excel is expected
  • Highly effective written and oral communications skills;
