At our Revesby plant, we manufacture solid woven conveyor belt. Currently running day and night shift, we seek an experienced Production Supervisor to take responsibility for providing a link between management and the shop floor, along with managing the workforce for designated day or night shift ensuring they reach volume, quality and cost goals.
The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for
  • Health, Safety and Environment – chair Toolbox meetings, actively report any near miss, hazards, incident or injury in line with company policies and procedures and or relevant legislation, actively participate in OH&S investigations and ensure compliance.
  • Administration – ensure time sheets are recorded accurately
  • Production Reporting - Monitor outputs from the shift, monitor and control costs, process MRP transactions, conduct and coordinate stocktakes, ensure production audits are up to date.
  • Leadership and management - supervise, coach and direct staff, promote harmony and spirit of goodwill between all employees, ensure all staff are aware of operating procedures, systems and policies and operate within “The Spirit of Fenner Dunlop”
  • Issues Resolution - achieve timely and effective issue resolution and effectively escalate and communicate problems and issues with relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement - develop and implement actions and initiatives to improve the operations safety, financial and operational performance.
About you:

The successful candidate will possess:
  • Experience working in a manufacturing organisation within heavy engineering or large industrial environment.
  • Experience in people management and staff development, including training and succession planning.
  • Experience in and management of Quality Control processes and systems
  • Exposure to Six Sigma principals.
  • Basic understanding of polymer technology (vulcanisation, rubber processing) – training provided internally.
  • Some engineering knowledge is desirable.
  • Previous experience in production planning and resourcing.
  • IT proficiency - Microsoft applications and an ERP system, such as SAP or Epicor.
  • Problem solving and issues management experience.
  • Certificate III or Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
