Reporting to our Senior Health and Safety Advisor and backed by a supportive local team, we will look to you for safety advice, coaching and support across our frontline workforce. Your ability to assist our leaders coordinate and promote improved safety outcomes across multiple sites and business locations will be highly valued and rewarded.
The priorities of this role are to;
  1. Support the development and delivery of HS strategy and improvement plans,
  2. Conduct health and safety assurance and governance processes/activities to ensure consistency in HSE systems, processes, procedures and goals,
  3. Provide coaching, support and technical guidance to line management and frontline teams to deliver quality and effective risk management activities, incident investigations, corrective actions and other key outputs,
  4. Drive communication, collaboration and continuous improvement with our leaders, teams, external customers and contracting partners to enhance our safety culture.

You will have a collaborative and engaging approach, driving safety positively and effectively across diverse teams, whilst empowering others and actively contributing to improvement.
Whilst this role is Perth based, it is essential that you will be able to travel regularly and be seen working across various locations, customer sites and projects as spending the majority of time in the field amongst our teams is our priority.
You will need to possess these qualities;
  • Strong organisational skills, blending compliance and practicality to achieve outcomes and be able to manage multiple tasks and demands simultaneously,
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills with a proven ability to negotiate outcomes, engage and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and adapt to suit target audiences,
  • Level-headed thinking with the ability to think outside the box to achieve practical outcomes and solutions to problems,
  • Self-motivated team player with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to reliably deliver results and meet deadlines,
  • Qualifications in safety/HSE and/or a related field with Trainer and Assessor, ICAM or similar and/or auditor qualifications highly regarded,
  • Demonstrated experience as a HSE practitioner at an operational level, with experience in a contractor service delivery role highly regarded,
  • Understanding of Western Australian HSE legislation, policies and procedures and application within the mining industry.
