Scrum Master / Project Manager - Contract - Sydney 

My client, a well recognized Australian brand, is undertaking a large scale IT transformation project and in need of a Scrum Master with a strong background in Project Management to join their team. 

The focus of this project is to understand what the customers are doing when connecting with IT teams, where are the problems and what journey are they taking. The Scrum Master / Project Manager is a newly created role within the IT Service Transformation Program to bring structure, planning and to ultimately execute what is a very large, complex and ambiguous program of works that will deliver a transformed user experience for their team members when they interact with the IT teams.

Key responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and moderate effort estimates and sizing to drive execution of delivery plans
  • Use metrics to measures to predict the pace and continuously improve the team
  • Ownership for the outcomes of projects by effectively solving and managing risks and issues
  • Facilitate team sessions when required including daily stand-ups, short and long-term planning, estimation sessions and retros
  • Coordinate dependencies with other teams
  • Facilitate the team’s progress toward iteration and phase goals
  • Clear obstacles and impediments blocking the team
  • Guide the team to become self-managing with focus on continuous improvement
  • Produce reporting on progress (sprint, phase, milestone)
  • Driving Agile principles and practices
  • Developing and maintaining communication and stakeholder management
Required skill set:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Project Management / Scrum Master
  • Experience delivering a Service Design project, ideally using Agile Scrum 
  • Ability to prioritise and manage customer expectations 
  •  Outstanding risk management skills 
  • Experienced in co-ordination of research in greenfield projects
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Able to handle ambiguity and navigate with outcomes
  • Experience working in large complex environments
  • Able to self manage
